James Brunson Jr. is currently in the 10th grade and is attending Fort Myers High School. His GPA is in the range of a 3.2-3.3. He plays basketball, football, is a 4-year letterman in basketball, and is a 3-year letterman in football. James loves to act goofy and play around very often but when it’s time to do work, it’s time to do work. Mr. Brunson is also ranked 49th in the state in basketball in his class. His teachers love him a lot and he has no problem with making friends. When James’ father passed away in 2007 that impacted his life gigantically. His father was a humongous role model to him also. He showed James how to play basketball, how to dance, and even talked with him about girls. If James’ dad was living right now, his father would be proud of him. James has a little sister named Bethany, A.K.A. “Becky”, and she is another special child. Sometimes they fuss and fight but it’s all out of love, tough love. They love to compete with each other, especially in basketball. They’d even come into the house arguing over who won after they played. But Bethany looks up to James and he does a great job of being a big brother. In football, James has FSU, Clemson, UCF, and Miami looking at him. His true love is basketball and he is also getting looked at by UCF and Miami. James’ dream is to go to college (the University of Florida), receive a degree in athletic training, and hopefully, make it to either the NFL or NBA. If he doesn’t make it, that degree would get him a nice, well-paying job. James’ motto is, “With God on your side, anything is possible” because anything is possible when you have the Lord, Jesus Christ.
